Female Leadership in the Middle East

Until lately, management posts in the Middle East have predominantly been held by men, and thereby they were stereotyped to be more efficient leaders. Women were infrequently involved in higher-ranking leadership positions leading to lack of evaluation data on how their leadership fluctuates. Nevertheless, in the Middle East, women are progressively praised for having abilities for leadership and, in fact, women, more than men, manifest leadership capabilities correlate to successful performance as leaders. For that reason, what qualities doe’s females possess that make them to offer effective leadership than male? The objective of this paper is to identify these ways in which female leadership is more effective than male in the Middle East. There are several ways in which their leadership is more effective includinghigher abilities to make decisions, self-sacrificing and opportunity proficient.

Women have higher abilities to make decisions which are more effective than ones of their male counterparts. When making decisions, they do not exhibit personal interest in reasoning. They make decisions which are in the interest of everyone: females have emotional feeling which captures the requirements of other people. However, males are strong, dominant, and ego-driven which makes them self-centered and unjust. Women’s capabilities to make fair and just decisions in leadership enable them to be effective corporate leaders; they are not motivated to seek enjoyment to harm others to benefit from corporate powers. They are more probably thinking about the rights of others, and make an accommodating approach to resolve the issue (Bates & Rassam, 2001). This method of administration results to improved performance for the entities.

Multitasking is an important aspect of every leader in order to execute the several decisions that they have agreed. Females are less withheld by complex and sophisticated processes as they are naturally able to coordinate effectively. Their abilities to perform more than one task at the same time make them to possess effective leadership qualities. They can transact multiple decisions at the same time better than the performance of males. For instance, corporate women are considerably inclined to make decisions by taking interest of multiple parties into consideration to make a decision that is thoroughly contemplated. They tend to make collaborative and consensus building skills more often and effectively, thus, making sound decisions. In accordance with Kanafani (2008), women seem to be prompted to be more curious and see multiple solutions. Hence, at management levels where corporate leaders are required to implement multiple strategies while taking into account several requirements of stakeholders, these multitasking skills make them more effective corporate managers.

Curiosity is a feature related to inquisitive decision such as study, exploration, and learning; an important feature of a leadership. Females in Middle East are curious and they are always eager to know everything that involves the organization. They spend time talking, gossiping, and brainstorming and thus are more inclined to make decisions that are practically based on people issues. According to Eckstein (2003) females develop these traits while they are young from their elders or older siblings. The ability to discuss with passion, ask concerned questions, and listen to other people continuously enable women at the leadership level to develop a cordial relationship with their subordinate as well as their leaders. This is an approach that helps them to win discussion and enforce policies easily than males. 

Effective adoption of policies also demands a person with self self-sacrificing traits. Females in Middle East have big hearts and seek to create time for others as well as extra duties. Williams (2000) asks: why are most non-profit organizations administered by women? Unlike, males, they are naturally predisposed to enjoy living their lives through a course that serves the progression and acceleration of communal requirements. That is the reason why women in the Middle East workforce are excellent at stimulating and encouraging those around them; they don’t just work for money, but for the success of everyone. These advantageous features make them be great long-term strategic thinkers. For example, they are less likely to support a short-term plan if a more appropriate approach can be accomplished.

In order to effectively coordinate both the short-term and long-term strategies, it is vital to have socially mindful leaders. Female leadership promotes advancement and enterprise for both themselves and the entire community. As a result, they are able to survive in both challenging and profitable environment. It is the reason why the owners of the fastest growing sector of small enterprising are Middle East women (Bano & Kalmbach, 2012). Their self-sacrificing attitudes enable them to be reliable and trusted by their business partners. However, male counterparts behave differently as transactions are about how they will solely benefit. In the end, people prefer working with women.

Enterprising skills require experts who can identify opportunity. Female leadership identifies chances and opportunity in everything: their friends, strategic associates, family relatives and their neighbors. Female have abilities to evaluate opportunities and focus on that plan as well as inspire others to do the same. When women are given support and encouraged to work for specific opportunities that capture their interest, they become natural leaders. According to Vianello (N/A), successful women are backed by privileged conditions such as support.  They usually involve well thought plans which are focused on the end goal. When they are involved in top management of any organization, they are able to see opportunity since, unlike male leaders, they do not just identify these chances, they seize them. They make fast strategic plans offering more effective leadership than men.

Women leaders are reliable, for instance, when a woman leader promises the group better results, they actually try and achieve the best thus fulfilling the wishes of the people. They perform in their field and produce reliable results that will satisfy the company or group. Also, while making disciplinary decisions, the women leaders are able to deliver fair judgments and punishment respectively. Women leaders are considered to be persuasive and assertive; they have a stronger need to always get things to be done and are willing to always take risks unlike the male counterparts. Women leaders are found to be flexible and empathetic; they can reverse their decisions for the sake of the group as well as the stronger in the interpersonal skills compared to the male counterpart. This will enable them to accurately read situations and take the necessary information from the required parties. They further have the ability to bring others around to the point of view for they genuinely understand and also care where the people they lead come from for example their background information. This makes the people they lead to be freer, understood, valued and more supported. According to Williams (2000), women leaders are seen as the best who can sacrifice for their group members. Unlike men leaders, women leaders are mostly empathizing with their people thus sacrificing themselves to protect their people and members in the societies.

In summary, there are several ways in which female leadership is better than male one. They can make effective decisions which are not based on personal vendettas. They make resolutions that focus on real issues that benefit everyone. Their multitasking skills enable them to be less withheld by the complex system and they can coordinate effectively compared to males. It enhances their decision making abilities as they can engage multiple decisions at the same time. Also, most corporate male leaders focus their interest on what they want differently to female leaders who sacrifice their time to their subordinates. Moreover, they are socially mindful of the society and can see the opportunity that benefits everyone.
